Apple iPhone 2.0 - With added push email!

Monday, June 9th, 2008

After all of a few days after Japan finally gets the iPhone, Steve iJobs unveils the new version…

iPhone 2.0 $199

Nice one… A new thinner (well actually thicker Steve), faster (3G isn’t HSUPA speeds eh!) and now cheaper (Nice one for the guys who paid over double that for an outdated version only today!!!) the latest iteration could easily mistaken as iPhone 1.5 rather than a full blown new version… It’s not even got a different shell!

But, saying all that… Now the licensed ActiveSync technology has been included I can seriously consider one…

Yup you heard it right, I like them…. I always have, just didn’t like not having my email, let alone push email… Apple also say that you can view Word, Excel an Powerpoint documents, which is great. I wonder about the formating, will it be the same? Nothing said about editing?

With Global Address List (GAL) support its coming close to what is offered by Windows Mobile and even I think beats some Blackberrys… But with the Blackberry 9500 (Thunder) coming soon, how well with they fair? Only time will tell…

Birthday Reminders syncing whilst abroad

Mental note

Never sync your device for the first time in a different time zone… Result is you’ll have the birthdays or other reminders stragling over 2 days :@

O well, see you in a day or so after I update them all!
